Hey Claymates!

My name is Skyler, and I’m the person behind the clay-covered hands, questionable amount of pottery, and lifelong commitment to making things fat and round.

My ceramics journey started innocently enough at a local community center. I signed up for a class, thinking it would be a fun little hobby. And then somewhere between my first wonky bowl and the realization that I could make things with my own hands, I became completely obsessed.

Ceramics quickly went from “this is fun!” to “I have 37 mugs and somehow still need another one.”

What I didn’t expect was how much I would fall in love with the community that comes with it. Ceramics has introduced me to some of the kindest, funniest, most wonderfully weird people, and the friendships I’ve made along the way have become one of my favorite parts of making pottery.

As for my work? I have a thing for fat, round, chunky little forms. I like my pottery with a little extra personality and a lot of curves. My goal is to make pieces that are functional enough to actually use, but cute enough that you’ll want to leave them sitting out anyway.

A mug should hold your coffee and make you ridiculously happy. A vase should hold flowers and look adorable when it’s empty. A bowl should hold snacks and have the audacity to be the cutest thing in your kitchen.

Basically, I want to make pottery that makes everyday life a little more fun.

One day, I dream of having a studio of my own—a cozy little space where I can make as much pottery as my heart desires, surrounded by clay, tools, shelves of weird little creations, and probably an unreasonable number of plants.

Until then, I’ll keep making chunky, cheerful, functional things and slowly filling every available surface in my home with pottery.

Thanks for following along with my ceramic obsession. I’m very happy you’re here. 🤍
